Morbach im Hunsrück

In the valley of the Dhron river lies Baldenau Castle, which was constructed by Baldwin of Luxembourg in 1320 and is the only example of a moated fortress in the Hunsrück. A visit to the Belginum Archaeological Park in Morbach-Wederath takes visitors on a journey back into the region's Roman history, providing an impressive insight into the lives of the Celts and Romans in the Hunsrück.

The German Telephone Museum in Morbach has made it into the Guinness Book of Records with the largest collection of German telephone equipment. Wood has been of real existential importance for residents of the Hunsrück since time immemorial. In the Hunsrück Wood Museum in Morbach-Weiperath, visitors not only get to see wood, but they also get the chance to feel it, smell it, and even taste it!
