HEIMAT Café and cinema
Since October 2013, Café Heimat has been located in Edgar Reitz’s childhood home in Morbach. Enjoying a cup of coffee from selected plantations from all over the world or regional specialities, you can experience the “Heimat” atmosphere.
On the upper floor, you can trace that special “Heimat” feeling. Original film props and scripts can be admired in showcases in two exhibition rooms. Sequences from the Heimat films can be accessed interactively in a separate room.
In addition to the café, the HEIMAT cinema has existed since 2019. With 30 seats, it is the smallest cinema in Rhineland-Palatinate with the most modern image and sound technology. It is an art house cinema and shows not only the films of Edgar Reitz but also his favourite films, selected international short films, films for children and more.
