Nature One, Streets of the Romans and Kastellaun Castle

Name important historical epochs and we will show you our Hunsrück sights to match.
Romans? They were there. Proof: a Roman road across the Hunsrück, today the Ausoniusweg. The Streets of the Romans (Straßen der Römer) link Roman sights in the Hunsrück, on the Moselle, in the Eifel, in Saarland or Luxembourg.
Celts? Of course. Visible in the Belginum Archaeology Park cultural center near Morbach-Wederath. Settlement and many Celtic burial mounds and sanctuaries.
The Middle Ages? Very powerful. Our romantic castle ruins are happy to tell their turbulent stories. Grimburg Castle, Baldenau moated castle and Kastellaun Castle remind us that things were not always as quiet here as they are today.
And if a monument has disappeared, augmented reality (AR) brings many things back to life at ARGO.

The events in the Hunsrück invite you to watch, listen and join in the celebrations.
Do you want rural culture with tradition? We offer: Farmers' markets such as the Hermeskeil farmers' and crafts market, fairs such as the Beller Markt or traditional festivals such as the Christmas market in Kirchberg.
Or would you prefer great music events, funny cabaret or impressive theater? Then visit Nature One - the largest outdoor rave festival in Germany - the ZAP in Emmelshausen or the HEIMAT-Europa film festival in Simmern.
