Saar-Hunsrück Climb
The Saar-Hunsrück Climb has its borders at the Moselle in Perl, at the Roman city Trier, and at Boppard at the Rhine.
Hike along 415 km of magnificent trails, past bizarre stone formations and idyllic brooks, through deep valleys and mysterious moor landscapes. Discover romantically situated lakes, enchanted valleys, and fantastic panoramas.
The Saar-Hunsrück Climb is ideal for active hikers.
It is the premium long-distance hiking trail with the highest proportion of nature trails (75% of the trail) and only 4% of the route is on tarmac - and that over 415 kilometres and 27 stages.
Its route is also unusual: there are three start and end points. For example, it runs from the Roman city of Trier via the Hunsrück to Boppard on the Rhine. However, you can also start in Perl and walk through northern Saarland and then decide near Hermeskeil in the Hunsrück whether to continue towards Trier to the Moselle or Boppard to the Rhine.
