Traben-Trarbach
The Moselle flows through Traben-Trarbach. Bernkastel is barely 4.5 kilometres from Traben-Trarbach as the crow flies, but the Moselle manages to flow 22.5 kilometres between the two.
The villages in the Traben-Trarbach region in the Hunsrück hills are a real insider's tip.
In the past, they were characterised by agriculture and slate mining, while today they have their own unique atmosphere. There are some beautiful half-timbered houses in the municipalities of Irmenach and Lötzbeuren.
