One of the most beautiful hiking routes in Germany, the Baybachklamm trail, can be found near Kastellaun. High cliff faces and steep pathways make this valley more of a canyon, meaning that a hike through it is packed with adventure.
Kastellaun's old town is a real jewel of the Hunsrück region. And right in the heart of it all, the castle ruins sit majestically above the restored half-timbered houses. Visitors can acquaint themselves with the town on interesting guided tours, rounded off with a meal in the castle cellars. Fans of adventure are also in good hands at the Forest Adventure Park in Kastellaun. Visitors can train their senses on the barefoot path or on the high rope course. And on the storm path, guests can learn all about the effects of Kyrill, a hurricane-force storm that swept across the Hunsrück in 2007.
